In this version of the Ghost Scene one of the effects used to give the setting a creepier feeling is that the director chose to use a wet ground in the background also the choice of no music just the loud wind around the castle. Also, when the Ghost is talking to Hamlet the director zooms in on his face as the voice of the Ghost seems to be getting quicker to make the moment more intense. The way the actor portrayed Ghost is very good because I think the way he changed his voice was good. I don’t like the way Hamlet was portrayed in that scene I just didn’t find the way the actor said his lines very believable.
Director: (Kenneth) Branagh
In the second version we watched the armor on the Ghost is much more obvious and the setting is a lot more creepy then the first. When Hamlet is running through the woods and you can hear him talking but his lips are not moving with explosions and fog around him makes the viewer more anticipated to see what happens next. Also, the way Ghosts eyes look and the tone he speaks in gives him more of a ghostly appearance then the first film. Shots of the Ghost from below give him the appearance of power. This scene was more intense then the other film and I liked it a lot better.
Director: (Michael) Almereyda
This last version of Hamlet we watched took place in a modern New York City. I liked the choice of making a more modern version of it but I think they could have done a better job doing it. In this Ghost scene I liked that they gave Ghost the napkin in his hand for his ear to show how he was poisoned. I also liked the way the actor made Ghost into a more modern version without losing much effect if it was in the medieval days. I don't like the way the actor played Hamlet they should have chose someone else more believable. Overall I liked this version of it.

i love your post. i think you were very straight foward with your opinion about each version of the ghost scene. i honestly think that version 2 was better than version 3 because there was more effects and it drew more attention to me.
